Jordan's special forces was founded in 1963 on the orders of the late
King Hussein Bin Talal. In the early seventies of the last century, the
process of development of Jordan's special forces and attention to
exercises of their own had started, also assigned the tasks of
reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, search and evacuation, combat and
secure key sites.It also has been charged with some of the missions like
targeting military convoys, armored and hinder its progress and cut off
enemy's supply lines and communications, equipped and trained to be
able to operate behind enemy lines for long periods without any
logistical support.
With the direction of Arab States to develop their own forces and
role in the conviction of modern warfare,their eyes are turning to
Jordan for the exchange of experiences and training their forces. Jordan
has been established with the city of specialized training for special
forces to meet the needs of Arab and non-Arab countries. Soon, Jordan
will become a regional center for the training of special forces.
According to a report issued by Haifa Center for Strategic Studies, on
23/3/2006, Jordan has trained many Arab forces like Algeria, Bahrain,
Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE
and Yemen.
The most significant sessions in the Royal Jordanian Special
Operations
Essential bolt course
Length: 10 weeks Course is fulminans is the first basic course for
all members of special operations. Focused on the physical fitness and
the acquisition of high individual skills and the ability to bear the
face of various difficulties in different areas of training.
Paratroopers
Duration: 4 weeks Course is the basic course is a parachute-second
session held after the bolt course to all members of special operations
troopers. Aims to promote self-confidence for the special operations
trooper and to gain parachute jumping skills.
