TrueCrypt - Allows you to
create virtual encrypted disks , which can then be used as normal
logical drives system . Acceptable encryption algorithms : AES ( 256
-bit key), Serpent ( 256 -bit key), Twofish ( 256 -bit key). As an
encrypted storage ( disk ) can be used as part of free disk space, and
completely one of the available hard disk partitions , as well as flash-
cards , floppy disks and other removable storage devices. Another
feature of the program - the lack of a title created by " drive " a
specific signature characteristic of other similar programs , making it
impossible to identify the TrueCrypt- ROM , because No part of the
virtual disk is no different from random data.
Features :
- Creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk.
- Encrypts an entire partition or storage device such as USB flash drive or hard drive.
- Encrypts a partition or drive where Windows is installed (pre-boot authentication).
- Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent.
- Provides two levels of plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password:
- Hidden volume (steganography - more information may be found here).
- No TrueCrypt volume can be identified (volumes cannot be distinguished from random data).
- Encryption algorithms: AES- 256 , Serpent, and Twofish. Mode of operation: XTS.
